I think we have found some common ground:
$17M is not too much for a guard "in principle" since three guards already make at least that much: Lindstrom, Nelson, and Jenkins.
But $17M is too much for Dotson since he is not in the same class as those guys.
As I take another look at the list of highest paid guards [
www.usatoday.com] $13M is still a really good payday. That's currently 10th in the league and would put Dotson alongside the likes of Zack Martin (Cowboys, average of $14M a year), Laken Tomlinson (Jets, $13.3M), and Ben Powers (Broncos, $13.3M a year.
Do you see Dotson fitting in with that group as opposed to the top three?
