I agree with most all you're saying. OLs are about continuity and becoming greater than the sum of their parts. We are seeing that with the Rams. If you look at them one by one you can find flaws, say Jackson and Shelton could be upgraded from, etc. And that is true.
But collectively they are getting in sync, well-coached and ascending as a group. It would be great to have all five starters back in 2024 while backfilling more depth (along with McClendon). It is possible. But Dotson's case is tough...
I agree with Ram Ruler that if he commands $16-17M/year on the open market he is gone. Period. And look at the example of McGlinchey signing with Denver. His contract likely nets SF a 3rd round comp. pick. At worst the Rams would get a 4th if Dotson left for that kind of money.
And there is a choice to be made. IF they are going to spend big(ger) FA dollars next spring do you do it at RG? Or at Edge or CB? Because they're not doing all of them. The choice would be pretty clear.
