teams don't just trade down willy-nilly.
Teams know the value of a pick...and if you trade down a few slots, you get the "value" of those 4 slots, which is a low
4th rounder--give or take, depending on who the team is---
If you trade down 10 slots it is worth 100 points on the "chart" and you'd get a low-3rd round/high 4th round--give or take
If you traded from 36 to 75 you'd never get just a 6th, you'd get at least a mid-2nd round pick, around 55
If a team at pick 58 wanted pick 36, you'd get their 58ths plus a little more maybe a 5th or 6ths.
There a fixed "prices" for slots...and no trade-down happens without both teams coming out of the trade
with approximately equal value.
