QuoteRampage2K- I think naming it the MVP award makes QB's the most likely to win the award since they are the Most Valuable Player on most teams, including our own. They should rename it the Most Outstanding Player award to allow someone like Aaron Donald a better chance at winning the award recognizing the player who had the most outstanding year.... if Donald keeps it up he deserves the MOPby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram Personally I think an even better stat is red zone touchdowns. Is it better to get to the RZ 3 times a game and score twice (67%)? Or get there 5 times and score 3 times (60%)? I think both stats are informative. (scoring offense rank, RZ attempts per game, RZ TD rank) KC (1, 2, 3) NO (2, 3, 5) Rams (3, 1, 18) Chargers (4, 11, 15) Indy (5, 5, 9) Pittsburgh (6by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePHDram actually you want both. if you select only winning teams you bias your sample. also top offenses is different then winning, but i get your point. and to be totally transparent we are dealing with 1 year of data here so that i also a bias. we should really look beyond just this year. over time, the red zone hypothesis may prove out. or perhaps its changing as offense are changing, mby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotetomatosan A college type offense. Maybe we will see a huge influx of college coaches 😁 I've been hearing a lot about this too. The college game does seem to have more innovative and wide open offenses. And we are seeing elements from the college game creeping in and that charge is of course led by these new innovative coaches being discussed. We'll see if the trend continuby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePHDram but then the ratio of red zone tds to red zone attempts doesnt mean much. instead, the more important stat would be the number of red zone attempts. Hypothetical: would it be good to get there more than any team in the league but have the lowest RZ TD rate? You're probably not gonna be a great offense if you don't 1) be among the top teams in getting to the RZ, and 2) be among theby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotePHDram i think this is an interesting question. conventional wisdom suggests that good teams (i suppose you can define that by winning percentage) will have a better red zone percentage than losing teams. after all, good teams score when they are closer to the end zone, right? but is that really true? of the top teams, the saints, patriots and texans are on that list as one may expect, bby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
Prior to 2016 I agree that they didn't have the requisite talent since they obviously didn't have a franchise QB. However, 2016 is the watershed year that pretty much makes the case for proponents that new hotshot coaches are the primary key to a quick turnaround. One can rationalize Goff not being ready all they want but the optics of the dramatic turnaround from 2016's terrible record, theby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteRams43 Quoteheadslapper Brees Kamara Thomas Cam Jordan I’ll give you Brees and Thomas, slapper. But are either Kamara or Jordan top 3 at their respective positions in the entire league? Kamara is definitely in the top 3 at his position. That was clearly evident when Ingram was suspended the first 4 weeks of the season. QuoteSteve All that said, I would like to sign him for a 1 year 6-8 million I can see Fowler being signed for something in the $8M range but I'm skeptical that he'd only sign for one year. QuoteRams43 For openers, I think all posters in this thread have made good points. But this is a multifaceted issue and here goes... 1. Yeah, there was a lot of talent on this roster when McVay walked in the door. Largely misused, but it WAS there. Goff and Gurley immediately morphed from bust to Pro Bowl status. 2. McVay quickly made excellent asst coaching hires. The importance of thatby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

Who knows if it's actually true but the word is, McCarthy being a conservative play caller in this modern NFL of great, innovative, and high scoring offenses is what has doomed him. Quotezn Quotedzrams Cowherd is right in the sense that teams see McVay's success and want the same results. Consequently, coaches will be fired. Teams are looking for the innovative, energetic coach who will bring them up to date with the modern offensive game. And quickly. You keep bringing up all of these old coaches from 20-50 years back which misses one of the main points of Cowherd aby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
