QuoteLMU93 Even assuming the Rams release Barron ($6.33M savings), keeping Fowler for 2019 plus tendering key RFAs- Littleton, Malcolm Brown, Morgan Fox, Blake Countess, Troy Hill, JoJo Natson- would quickly whittle their cap space down to around $23M or so. Account for the draft class and there is less to toss around at any big free agents. In my opinion the Rams need to focus on maximizingby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRampage2K- Yeah I just watched the first it again and posted about it the other day. It was just one of those weird games where the team was just completely out of sync...O-line was man handled and that was our biggest problem Penalty here, dropped pass there, missed throw here led to a really bad day for the offense, which is a shame considering how well the defense was playing. 1st drive (after Peters INT) Run - Gurley goes nowhere, no hole Pass (shotgun) - 5 yards to Cooks Pass (shotgun) - Mack blows up Hav, Goff with no chance Notes: RZ trip, no TD; FG I see no issues with the scheme here. I'd say the drive failure is on the OL. 2nd drive Run - Gurley picks up 9 yards Pass (under Center) - complete OL breakdown again on the right side causing Goff to sby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAtlantic Ram Is that the Rams have struggled for about 15 years to sign and develop OL... The Rams had a starter quality OL in Brown and they let him go? You provide some context for the worry and I get that. But I'm skeptical the Rams would have let him go if they thought he was starter quality.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram If the Rams take out a WR and bring in a blocking TE wouldn't the Bears counter by taking out a CB and bringing in another run-stuffing LB? What other blocking TE do the Rams have to bring in? I'm optimistic about Everett's development as a receiving TE but he's not a good blocker.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 BTW, dz, do you think Earl Thomas is a likely Ram get? Do I think Thomas is a likely get? No. But would I be surprised if the Rams pursued him? Also no. I'm sure we've all noticed by now that this Rams management team, led by Snead, is pretty aggressive when it comes to talent acquisition. Who knows if your odds are correct...I'm hoping they're a bit better than that. But whether they are or aren't, I agree with every other word you said. I'm very optimistic on this team's future. QuoteBigGame81 I think he's a FA after this season. Also, I bet Noteboom surpassed him. He is a FA and I bet they already knew they weren't going to resign. So long term, it's no loss at all. Also, Noteboom had definitely surpassed him as evident by the fact that in the preceding couple of games to him being cut, NB was the first sub in, not Brown. Quotesfbayram My post is related to the Rams deficiencies not wins and loses. How deficient relative to the rest of the league are we when we are 11-2 against on of the toughest schedules? Deficiencies are always related to wins and losses. Indeed, the way you know that you're really deficient is when you lose a lot over a period of time.by dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com

Quotezn QuoteHazlet Hacksaw He has been around a long time and knows what these guys can do and what they cant. Seems to me that he invites teams to run - knowing that this just isn't that good a defense on the whole. That works great when your offense scores in 3 mins and hangs 34 a game up. Let the other team get two long drives chew up 15 mins of clock and score maybe 20 points. Doesn't workby dzrams - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Kudos for raising the topic again, UK. Look, I’m a far cry from anything even resembling an NFL coach. There are many far better X’s and O’s guys on this board, alone. But even to me, this much seems obvious if one wanted to design a gameplan to attack the Ram D. Run the danged ball. Run it early and run it often. QuoteSpeed_Kills I'm worried that he is flawed... ... I've seen you use this word flawed several times now but I'm not sure what you mean by it. QuoteRinconRam Well said. I guess it's still better than arrogantly expecting wins every week like Pats fans. The Pats fan base is exactly why I think it's mental conditioning. Personally, I think it's better to arrogantly expect wins because it means that the team has been winning for a long time. Pats fans know they're gonna win because...Brady. Belichick. QuoteRampage2K- Credit the Bears for completely winning in the trenches yesterday.... I don't remember even hearing Donald's name yesterday I was shocked considering how the Bears o-line looked like a week earlier vs Giants....I thought AD was gonna have a 3 sack day. QuotePHDram part of the reason the oline sucked is that mcvay refused to run the ball. so the bears didnt have to play the run. it puts the oline in a bad situation. QuoteRamUK McVay looked concerned VERY early on. I haven't seen that with him before. Very curious. If you're right and McVay was actually concerned early on, this may explain why he took Gurley out of the game. My observation of McVay is that, while he is often an offensive genius with scheming, he gets rattled as a coach and starts making bad decisions that lead to being unbalanced. Goff second, and McVay third. The OL had a horrible game no matter whether it was run or pass. Players were not executing, missing blocks. I know it's easy to immediately point to the coach and he didn't call a good game, but the players failure to execute was even worse.
