So yeah there won't be too much change on that front this season. This year is about getting Stafford fully vested and playing fast in this scheme so there won't be any more than the usual pressure on him. Which is to say even with McVay calling the plays Stafford is going to need to make reads at the LOS and improve the offense in anticipating threats. Down the road I do suspect 9 will be aby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
From there he's gonna be "up" for gameday which means he's available for the RB rotation and it's a question of how well he knows the offense and is he smart enough to play fast year one. If the guy is that smart he's definitely a nice fit. And sure he has to stay healthy through all that and it doesn't look good. Our RB room as a whole seems to have an injury risk problem tbh butby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Is the intelligence and grounded nature of this rookie class. These guys are smart players who want to make an impact and love what they do, as McVay mentioned. I mean listen to Jones, Harris, Funk this week in interviews I just wow. Just listened to the Funk interview this morning and was blown away just like I was with the other two. All three of those dudes know what they need to do. Anby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRockRam The news reports are that Aaron Rogers is now saying he WILL report..... and (what a shock), it all revolves around a new contract. You mean more money solves this? It would sure appear so. Will he be the first $40 mil per year NFL player? But if you're LaFleur or the GM, can you really think that the same grumpy discontent Aaron Rogers who easily gets his nose out of joint will be dby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Them being close to 100% vaccinated is nice to hear. I'm not a vaccination nazi nor an anti-vaxxer. But overall the leadership of this team is proactive and on top of this and I think we'll be in good shape there with the roster vs the ruleset the league put out. He understands RB availability is a big problem. At some point that is going to be important in them recognizing when/if they neeby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Like we used to in the neighborhood for chickenpox. They're all finely tuned athletic machines, and young to boot. Everybody get it now vice later. :thumbsupby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
In particular punt returns too. Because of the mechanics of coverage team releases from that punt formation you get a much higher chance of breakdowns and seams. So threatening that with misdirection when they already have enormous probs with staying in their assigned lanes and coming down at the right time (being late or early causes gaps if you're not a gunner) makes a ton of sense. He prefers speed backs, that much is certain. Akers is a speed back, he's just a speed back who can also do other stuff like get skinny and grind tough yards. Hendy's a speed back. Jones is too, though he's not as talented as the first two he's probably more a slasher but very much in the same vein. McVay clearly does not value power backs. And that bugs me btw. I hate it. Because when Cby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It was the players. When a RB plays well enough in this offense things click. When they don't things don't click. Queue up any game from the point Gurley started to fall apart on and you'll see backs coming in and not doing enough to make this offense go. In fact that was Brown who couldn't stay healthy and sustain success. Same with Hendy. Having a great game is well and good but you gotby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He got the last coach fired (it was time too but still) and is working on the next one. Adams is just trying to cash in IMO hard to blame him. I'd hardball Rogers until he's retired and fat. Then put up highlights of his great games on the website after he retires if he does. No way that dude would go to another team and rub my nose in it if I'm the GM. But maybe if he can get other plby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

The guy makes cuts on pursuit from what would be a blind spot for a lot of backs tbh. Exceptional vision. Not like you can make a career in the NFL on that, but he also sets guys up instinctively and has enough speed. Just throwing this out there due to that read.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They had a fine draft and between adding Horn and some FA role players to the defense I think they're gonna be a lot better at limiting points. And they were mid pack last year. If Horn shows well year one they might be a playoff contender. Everything's going to come down to the QB but I've always liked Darnold and pairing him with a really good offensive mind is win/win. Because I love his run style behind this line. I think he's a fantastic fit. But for how long. I'm just really tired of RBs who can't go. Really tired of it. Pulling for these guys though as a group to get it done I'm just not feeling good at all about it in terms of them carrying the load and holding up.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotedzrams I'm not saying he's special; I'm saying he's being underrated here. You may be right DZ. I will admit his SR numbers surprise me. I'm willing to wait and see and I am going to be rooting for the guy. I'm not so determined to be correct about him that I'll root against him or something. I hope you're right. My guess is that if any of these guys step to the fore it will be Joneby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If we had just Kupp it's a different game. Not to mention Gurley without his knee acting up. Rams still have hope for a deep playoff run and who knows, but in my mind we've gone from a SB favorite to more of a deep playoff team. I see no reason to try to convince myself that this was not what it was, which is an enormous hit for a team that looked poised to run the table.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn And Henderson is a good back, he's just not Akers. .... Yep that sums it up nicely.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
What it misses is that Akers took half the season to settle in. Early in the season he missed a lot of holes and opportunities. Some in the redzone. There was one that was pretty funny, it was him following the designed hole when there was a hole he would have easily scored on a cut up the middle. Later in the season he wouldn't have missed that, he was a different guy down the stretch. Myby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
On my eyes and personal evaluation of these guys. I am not a scout. Not a coach. Not a guy who bats a thousand either. Just my opinion. Losing Akers makes this offense into something less. Subtracting him and looking at the depth chart it's now a "finesse" offense. Because Akers is a guy who can make it go. If you disagree that's fine man. I'm just sharing my take. Whatby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The guy is a skilled back. He can do some great things. But every single time Gurley couldn't go he wasn't capable of carrying the load. Last year even... Before Akers started clicking in the backfield the offense was start 'n stop with Hendy and Brown. We have to add someone who can consistently move the chains. That's the need.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Probably a good chance for that at least. Web had zero chance of making this roster anyway.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteno name To a stars and scrubs team. Rams have no depth anywhere and already down a star. The margin for error is zero now. I really like his vision. The guy routinely sees and anticipates guys from his peripheral even, it's kind of amazing. And he cuts well on top of that, so he's very unpredictable for tacklers. The problem on most team boards is fans digging in on one side of the extreme or the other. I have no problem though calling his Miami or SF games for the pile of excrement they were, even as many were making excuses and blaming other things like McVay. Or for that matter giving him cred when he had a great game vs Tampa, even as many were making excuses and giving all the credit to McVay. Iby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

Is what they do if they end up with a top pick and have a QB option staring them in the face this offseason. There is a reasonable chance that happens. So if I'm Goff right now my goal is to ensure they're sold on me leading that team.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They started him in a playoff game last year. He got hurt which infuriated me (the fact he didn't show more care after a Cards game where he took five or more vicious shots to his head) but McVay admitted that he called that QB run. I think the comfort level with him makes him a lock. He knows the offense cold. Can come in during a game in a pinch and add some scrambling ability and off sby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They played hardball with the wrong owner and lost the team. At that moment in time they didn't imagine he could solve LA where so many had failed. Ultimately they will llose in court I think. What they should be focusing on is attracting a new team. Taking another city's team then losing it due to your own hubris is a bad look IMO.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Not to be a Debbie Downer here. It's hype season and all and I get that. But SJD is just not a pass rusher. Brock was far more talented in that way, and is probably more a natural 3T than anything else. SJD is not, he's a big guy with solid strength who moves well and stays on his feet. I seriously doubt he becomes a plus rush threat by any stretch this season. Also he's working on 1T witby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Was in thinking that Stan was Georgia. That he wouldn't use the out they gave him. If they had just paid the $800M or whatever to put the stadium into the top percentage as they had agreed to do by contract, Stan would still be in STL. So no matter how you slice this thing they gave up their control of the situation.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I like what he's done in his stops prior, from his positional jobs to his interim look. I love the staff he put together of players, in particular Brunell was a brilliant QB hire for Goff. And the guy doesn't have to speak like Shakespeare to get through to the players. He's not a cerebral type in how he comes across but you don't need to be if you know how to gameplan intelligently.
