My band opened for The13th Floor Elevators back in the late 60's. So this becomes my claim to fame.

My wife knew a guy from that band. She is originally from Texas. She had one Texas stint before working overseas for years, then a 2nd Texas stint in the late 90s after coming back from overseas. In that 2nd stint she lived in Kerrville (which is between Austin and San Antonio) and got to know their one-time drummer, John Ike Walton. They met at a music shop (Margo was a professional musician for most of her life though not now). She says he was a very nice guy and used to take her young kids to see his current band play.
