with the wood grain showing through.. they used to do that on Les Paul Standards.. just loved that finish.. I NEVER talk about my Paul because I'll never play it live.. I don't wanna screw it up with all the jewelry I wear.. Its a '76 Custom, white with black and gold.. the white has yellowed with age over the years, but you can see just a hair of woodgrain through it.. I bought it when I was a sophomore in high school.. worked my BUTT off for it.. its still in amazing shape.. I paid $1K for it then.. I'll bet its in the $5-6K range now, especially due to its condition.. I don't think you could find a '76 in better shape.. My only regret is replacing the bridge pickup - and giving the pickup to struggling friend in the 80's who needed a new pickup.. Anyways, here it is..
