but on drums I kinda prefer big beefy fills and whatnot that make me absolutely CLOBBER my steering wheel when I hear them.. Lightning fast fills are cool, too, but I don't really prefer them in the tunes I write.. its all good, tho..
No, I don't divulge tricks to anyone, either.. but most of my tricks are visual.. I had somebody ask me the other night to teach them how to make their guitar smoke - a trick I actually stole from Ace Frehley - but there's no way I've giving up that secret.. There's a lot fo things I do on guitar that I do specifically in a way that allows me to perform better.. meaning, I find ways to play the same riff or lick that are better suited to running around or spinning or whatever.. I wouldn't divulge those tricks, either, although someone with a video camera could get a pretty good idea of what I'm doing..
Totally get ya on playing songs forever.. when I do 80's metal, its all songs I've done since the 80's.. when I do originals - which I'll be doing MUCH more of in the future, half of them were written in the 80's lol.. the rest are 80's inspired, so its all in the blood, at this point..
I think I FINALLY just finished setting up Studio One and all the plugins, interface and other software on the new Mac.. took me TWO solid days to set that up.. I also have the 2tb external drive to run my old Mac off of, that I will run all the Adobe Suite on, but haven't set that up yet.. Pretty sure I was able to back up most of the old hard drive before it crashed.. I loaded all my songs on the new computer and it was a total joy to hear them all again.. Probably tomorrow will start working on the other blown up Mac.. Part of the process is reloading the OS on the external drive.. I sure hope it allows me to lol
