I just came from my 6 month check up with my primary care doctor. We were talking about "what's new" in terms of my health and whatever else in my life I feel like sharing and I told her I have a new nephrologist now at St Louis University Medical Center and that I like her. I told her about the new drug the nephrologist has has me on for my stage 3 chronic kidney disease. The doc looked at the notes on MyChart and said, "No, you don't have stage 3 kidney disease. You have stage 4 kidney disease". I knew my kidney disease had gotten worse but I hadn't been told it had progressed to stage 4. This is why I'm glad my doctors can all see everything. It keeps everybody informed and on the same page when it comes to my medical care.
