That is a "digital" system used by many physicians, hospitals, med centers, etc. If you have an issue out of state that is treated your doc at home can be informed immediately and then both physicians are on the same page. My wife's lung cancer would never have been timely diagnosed had her auto accident and fractured sternum CT Scan results not been posted on "my chart" immediately. Her internest here in So Cal was able to see the scan as soon as it was completed and noticed what looked like a lesion that needed to be addressed. Turned out to be a malignant tumor that was operable and removed. She is now cancer free after major thoracic surgery at MD Anderson. We're now in the pain recovery period. Had the scans taken on the accident day not been electronically shared to her in primary physicians it is likely the cancer would have metastasized and surgery would not have been an option.
IMO I want all my treating phyicians to know about my condition and medical procedures. I can't remember everything and am not medically intelligent enough to know what a treating physician should know about my prior treatments. The only way that's possible is by a system such as My Chart-a digital format that is an immediate vessel for whatever diagnosis and treatment you are having no matter by whom or wherever.
Modern medicine is actually pretty damn amazing.
