As I’ve said so often, I’m a results oriented guy.
I, like so many others, was critical of the early season Morris D schemes because of the frustrating results with such superior talent. No amount of X’s and O’s Gobbledygook or jargon is gonna convince me otherwise.
But fair is fair and to his credit Morris started tinkering, adjusting, and using different players in different ways and with a helluva lot more aggression. The all-important thing is that the results started improving and I believe the Rams only lost one game since November, that infamous 2nd game vs 49ers.
Morris and his now magnificent D have been elite in the playoffs. The 2nd half adjustments vs Bengals produced dramatic results, for example. Rams don’t win the Bucs, 49er, or Bengal games without this ‘new’ Morris D, imo. None of them, if we’re gonna be completely honest and I certainly mean no disrespect to the fine efforts of the O and ST units in those games.
Big kudos to the ‘new’ Morris! He definitely got the results we all wanted, didn’t he?
