Carroll Rosenbloom !
I think nostalgia is coloring your memory. Rosenbloom had good traits but let's not make him out to being better than he was. He was willing to move the team from LA to Anaheim and then actually did it. He was also willing to move again if things did not go as he hoped in Anaheim. Which Georgia followed through on. The Rams likely would have been in Baltimore had CR remained alive. And speaking Baltimore, CR traded his whole team away in favor of getting one in California.
I just don't see how Kroenke is being condemned if one was okay with what Rosenbloom did.
Kroenke never stated that the Rams would remain in St. Louis forever. Many people pored over his few statements at the time and noticed that he was leaving "outs" in what he was saying. No one thought it would actually happen so I think many people were surprised but that doesn't mean that Kroenke lied. Nothing he did was underhanded unless you were personally affected by living in St. Louis.
But this is very much a "what's good for the goose" situation. St. Louis played dirty pool along with Georgia when she ran the team into the ground to get out of her lease. Kroenke didn't do that. St. Louis simply didn't have the money to fulfill it's side of the lease agreement. On top of that, instead of encouraging Kroenke to stay by giving him more control if he was the one investing the money, they tried to strong-arm him. They wanted him to foot the bills while they still reaped the benefits.
They were mismanaged and greedy and here we are.
