I grew up a Rams fan in Long Beach, CA. We moved to Joplin MO in 1974. I remained a Rams fan. When the Dome opened in St Louis, I was there with tears in my eyes.
Moving back to LA didn't lessen my love for the team one bit.
So suffice it to say, I'm inherently unbiased about the feud because I genuinely love both sides. With that perspective, here are my relevant observations:
1. It sucks for fans to lose their teams so they can no longer drive to the games they love.
2. Owners make investments for their own reasons. In America, isn't that constitutionally protected?
3. Missouri never fully embraced the Rams. GSOT created bandwagon fans who disappeared as quickly as the playoff appearances did.
4. I just visited both St Louis and Nashville. I've been to every major city in the US and there couldn't be a more stark contrast between the two. St Louis has deteriorated significantly the last five years and Nashville has grown at an amazing rate. I have such a deep fondness for St Louis, but the place now has more issues than Time magazine.
5. Personal attacks used to be tolerated on these boards, thank goodness they no longer are. The divisive attitudes are simply unnecessary, destructive, and unenjoyable.
6. I hope St Louis wins some money here and finds a way to revitalize. They need it and Stan can afford it.
7. If I retire with enough money, I want to live in one of those lofts close to the stadium.
