For me, Jeff Fisher served his purpose. He's like the big gas tank on the space shuttle. He helped to get us off the ground but after that, he becomes a hindrance.
Fisher's drawbacks on offense were legendary--I didn't like the tendency to sign athletic receivers who did not perform at the level needed, like Cooks and Britt. Boras was clearly a mistake. But all that was also messed up by the conditions I describe. IMO you are not doing a complete, objective account of the Fisher years if you do not include that.
Another plus with Fisher, even given all that happened, is that McVay inherited a team ready to win. He did not inherit a true rebuild, the way Shanahan did in SF.
