Zn, it's not about you personally, it's about your argument, it's myopic. I'm saying that Fisher was a mediocre coach. His record says that. You've only attributed the OLine and QB problems. Other posters see more. It's the bigger picture.
Nobody is going to agree 100% of the time, we even disagree with ourselves at times, i.e. when we change our mind.
Also, like DZ, I also asked you if you would want Fisher and you didn't reply. So yes, you've been asked. Not every question needs to be answered, but don't pretend that it wasn't asked.
And someone disagrees with the details of your argument, they are myopic? (Reminds me of the PD board.) And so name-calling makes you right?
Well--his record with the Rams indicates this. He had both a starting caliber non-rookie qb and an intact, veteran, healthy OL in 14 games. You will not name any coach who did well under those conditions. Avoiding that point does not make it a non-point. I don't know how far they would have gone if they had a real team in those years, but it would have been better than it was. That's so obvious that you're not even addressing that point.
In Tenn when he had both a qb (McNair or Collins) and an OL, after a couple of building years, they went 91-37 and made the playoffs in 5 seasons. That's not the story you are trying to tell. One of the toughest coaches in the tough NFC west is Shanahan, who has beaten the Rams 4 straight games now. How is his record when he has extensive injuries and no starting caliber qb? Looking at just records alone out of context is meaningless. It's not even an argument.
Now do me a favor. If all you're going to do is repeat your personal stuff (you approach this as relentlessly arguing with a person, not a position--you don't even name or attempt to counter any position I hold) then, just don't bother. You're not saying anything new and you're certainly not making counter-arguments to my arguments, you're just declaring how right you are, and being the personal attack poster you (cutely) claim not to be. If that's all I can expect, then, fine--it's easy enough to see that for what it is.
