But they do. If you wanted to you could think of more examples of that, like Caldwell. In fact in other circumstances, you yourself would openly acknowledge that that's part of how the league works---there is a very very short list of longtime coaches in NFL history who got third chances.
Try not to turn this into a death match. It doesn't matter if you agree with me. It also doesn't matter if you have a strong opinion (which you might be mistaking for a truth) and need to fight over it. I just don't agree with your reasoning.
