Fisher had the final decision making on player acquisition. The "collaboration" only went so far as to who makes the final choice, and every local sportswriter and Fisher himself said it was him. It was probably in his contract (not unusual for vet HCs). Sure he listened to others about the players. So the one thing we can really give him credit for is AD. Otherwise..... yikes.
Fisher was a complete disaster. There is simply no sugar coating it. 5 years of trying brought zip. This team was right there with Cleveland, for Pete's sake, as perpetually running in mud. Fisher was so 80's and knew nothing else. Fishing in Montana is exactly where he belongs. The expiration date for him had run out before the Rams hired him. They went and got his exact opposite in McVay. And they loosed Snead to make the picks, going at it with a home run mentality, and ready to trade high picks for NFL stars, but in the mold McVay wants. Again, local sportswriters marvel at the complete organic connectivity between Snead and McVay.... which, btw, is difficult to do and doesn't happen all that often.
We need to enjoy the run because this stuff doesn't last forever.
