I do not agree with your assessment on Goff ....never will. There are others who don't agree either. For the record, developing a QB and micromanaging him on every play are different things. Carry on. We will never agree. I hope both QB's find success.
On the others, there has been mismanagement of this roster. I don't necessarily disagree with some of the other posters responses, however, it is crystal clear to me that there were other problems with this team the past two seasons... and it started on the coaching staff.
We will continue to disagree. I don't share your myopic view of things 43.
Snead himself just stated yesterday that they are going to have to approach 'pillars' in the organization and plead with them to restructure, etc....any resistance will mean cutting teammates..... how do you think that goes over in the locker room? That is mismanagement.
You see nothing but roses, I don't share that view. There are others like me that don't either. I'm VERY hopeful Stafford (who I like!) is the answer to getting this team a Lombardi.... but there are other issues to consider. Here are my observations:
1. A head coach who is brilliant, but clearly still learning about the nuances of leadership
2. A GM who has carte blanche to do almost anything .... with little perception publicly that he is held responsible.
3. It's hard to see how the team depth will not suffer; hope we hit on draft picks
4. Both RB's have been dinged already
5. May lose key DL, LBers and most of the secondary
So....I get most of the board couldn't stand Goff. Got it. Got the message. However, that contract less than two years ago and several other questionable moves shouldn't be ignored because we got a shiny new toy. This shiny new toy could easily bust or go away soon like all the rest.
HOPE I'M WRONG.....more than happy to admit when I am......I'll celebrate with everyone and remind everyone how wrong I was if that makes some feel better.......but I don't like what Snead/McVay are doing and I know I'm not alone. Some call it 'bold'.....others call it 'irresponsible'
