I'm not sure it was schematic as the scheme will change much per jordan.

However given the timing I think you might be right in terms of personnel. Maybe kromer wanted blythe back and mcvay disagreed.

The other thing that aligns with timing is the coaching changes. Rememeber the assistant oline coach left. Maybe dad wanted to give son the job but mcvay either didn't think he was ready or didn't want a father son tandem in charge of the run game. Maybe he wanted an outside voice.
