When listening to JR, I felt the father-son dynamic thing was more Kromer being the "father figure" when McVay first started coaching and putting his staff together. McVay then had the role as a "son" or younger coach being helped along by veteran coaches until he was ready to become a head coach. I think that's what we are seeing now. McVay is evolving and becoming a "head coach" and putting his own mark on this team with coaches he feels fit his system better.

A coach can't evolve if he has older coaches on his staff? I dunno, that sounds pretty insecure to me.

And if you want to replace a coach cause you don't think he fits your system, why wait a month? He didn't know a month ago that Kromer didn't fit his system? After 4 years? That's a significant thing with this--the timing is very strange. How often do you hear of head coaches moving on from a top assistant or coordinator a month after hiring season?
