* the hire itself could very well turn out to be good. Staley was a good replacement for Wade, Henderson the DL coach was a good replacement for Johnson (and Johnson was a respected veteran DL coach). The Henderson hire was very much like this new OL coach hire. Hopefully it works out the same way.

doesn't work is the lame explanation. Head coaches are in the business of knowing the bests interests of the sons of established coordinators and position coaches? At least they didn't try that one with Wade. "Hey Wade's good and all but his son Wes will do better with dad gone."
Truth is, I don't buy the explanation.
I just think McV for whatever reason just prefers younger coaches with good reps.
