It could also be personal and completely a family issue. A strong disagreement over a divorce, a girlfriend, a sibling, any number of reasons why a father and son could no longer work together. If the animosity carried over into the workplace it could be disruptive to everyone around them. We have no idea to what their "dynamic" might have been but my speculation is one that is played out nationwide on a daily basis. McVay may have been forced to choose sides which is a terrible place to be with two employees much less a father and son.
People are speculating wildly.
There is zero evidence that this happened because of tensions between Zac and Aaron.
It just flat looks like McVay, rightly or wrongly, wanted to move on from Kromer the same way he did with Phillips and DL coach Johnson.
The only reason people are even discussing the "family" thing is because the Rams came up with this lame and implausible idea that McVay didn't think younger Kromer could do as well with older Kromer present.
The craziest part about that routine would be if it were true that the Rams really did take that into consideration.
