I'm glad you agree with me. Being ranked in the middle of the pack is better than being ranked at the bottom, but I'd like to see him reach a higher status. I think less bad throws, misreads, panic moves, etc. will help the entire team take a step forward.
I think a lot of that is that he's coached to avoid sacks so he makes throws even if the play is out of sync and the timing is off. Just get rid of the ball.
Cause the OL does give up pressure. Yet--in spite of being ranked 3rd in pass attempts, they are 1st (in the good sense) in sacks allowed. Under those circumstances--yes pressure, high attempts, low sacks--the difference has to be the qb.
Ranked 13th or 14th isn't bad at all, given the circumstances. No running game, high in pass attempts, an OL that ended up with 3 inexperienced injury replacements--that's a lot to handle. I bet not many (if any) qbs who were top 10 under pressure had those conditions.
