Zn,
You're failing to distinguish between what type of improvements Goff can make.
Remember, the lead in to this thread was 43's desire to see from the Rams and he listed improvements in many areas. He didn't mention Goff, so I did.
Here are some examples of improvements Goff can make:
1) The stats you provided had Goff ranked near the middle of the pack in performance under pressure. As Goff and others have stated he can improve in that area. If he keeps a cooler head, goes through his checkdowns, throws away quicker or takes a sack, then he can move further up in that category.
2) Fumbles. Goff had a lot of fumbles this year. Just improving his broken play recognition, not playing desperately, and focusing on securing the ball better would cause him to have fewer fumbles.
3) INTs. Better concentration, going through his checkdowns, not desperately forcing the ball, recognizing defenses better, would enable him to cut down on INTs.
Many Rams' fans point out GZ's missed FGs that changed the season. Surely a few less INTs and fumbles would have a similar effect.
Also, you are either not expressing yourself clearly.
In an earlier post you said:
"not only is he capable of improvement, we've already seen it since he came into the league. So no I never said he's incapable of improvement. In fact that would be a silly thing to say. That's just how you keep misconstruing what I AM saying."
But then in your last post you said:
"So I don't think that if the OL collapses again that he is going to improve on his 2019 performance behind a collapsed OL."
Either he can improve with the same OLine or he cannot improve. Given the same OLine I think Goff can make improvements, as detailed above.
Goff has faced adversity. He has to mentally and physically adapt, i.e. improve. He can learn, be taught, practice, etc, i.e. keep doing the things he talked about during this offseason. I think he can improve even with the same OLine. You don't think he can. Most everybody else does.
Another point. You've repeated asked for names of QBs who can rise above a bad OLine. I've not answered in much depth because it was alway irrelevant to my point, (not yours, but you've been off target since your first post in this thread). You've listed Wilson and Brady. But a quick glance at QB rankings against OLine rankings shows other QBs are able to play above their OLine. From 2019 I listed Rivers as one. A few other were marginally better. A look at 2018 shows more names. Rivers, Cousins, Dalton, and Carr, also rose above a dismal OLine. Goff is as good as most of those QBs, certainly he can rise above as they have.
