I'm no contract lawyer, but it seems to me that when a player signs a contract with a team, it's only with that team. If a player is traded then the team has broken their end of the contract making the player a free agent.
I'm assuming there is language in the contract to cover this, but if I'm the NFLPA I might lobby for a ban on the trading of players. If a player has to honor a contract, then the team should either honor their end or release the player

So why can't players flex their muscle from time to time? Players are treated like objects. They can be traded at any moment, meaning their families have to up and move to wherever the GM sends them.
Trades are contractually provided for in the CBA. So the players have already agreed that they may happen.
