I will never understand how players can justify holding out for new contracts before the current contract is up. It's another thing all together that these guys feel disrespected by multi year $10 million plus per year deals. It is just an awful example these men are setting. What a bunch of petulant babies. Good for SD for not playing these games, and Dallas for standing tall despite their franchise player holding them ransom. Shame on these guys for their terrible behavior, and the same can be said for their sleezebag Agents.
Go rams.
I definitely relate to how you feel, but the current CBA is not rookie contract friendly. Zeke is underpaid for what his value to the Cowboys is. That being said, they need to lock up Dak and Amari Cooper before Zeke because he has 2 years left on his rookie deal. Melvin Gordon is severely underpaid too. Zeke is stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I were Jerry Jones, I wouldn't lift a finger on renegotiating his contract. Their rookie RB Pollard looks real good and that position isn't as critical in todays game.
I think the next CBA will be more rookie friendly, with shorter tenure served for pensions and more guaranteed money. There will probably be a lockout or strike whenever the current CBA is up.
On one hand, I agree with you that players are greedy and have a sense of entitlement, but I also recognize the overall unfairness of in particular of rookie contracts, especially ones that are great players
What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women.
