So why can't players flex their muscle from time to time? Players are treated like objects. They can be traded at any moment, meaning their families have to up and move to wherever the GM sends them. If they get hurt or underperform they're asked to take a paycut or be released. Holdouts are clearly fair because there's rules for them in the CBA. I see nothing wrong with it.

Also, just because they make millions doesn't mean they should be content with what they have. They have, what, 8 years to get what they can before it's all over for them? Did you know that the majority of NFL players end up broke? Can't blame a guy for wanting every dollar that he feels he's worth. Max out your earning potential while you can. And the 13 million that Gordon is asking for is only a fraction of what he makes the team.

Trend of holding out for new deals is A DISGRACE & SHAMEFUL!

spagsbacker804August 22, 2019 03:35AM

Well teams can cut players before their contracts are up

Ram_Ruler327August 22, 2019 03:43AM

"Objects" don't earn up to $35 mil per year.

RockRam359August 22, 2019 04:39AM

Well money is a relative thing

Ram_Ruler227August 22, 2019 04:51AM

Sure owners look at their employees as "business pieces".

RockRam241August 22, 2019 05:02AM

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT

Ram_Ruler222August 22, 2019 05:07AM

Except they didn't negotiate the deal

It would be difficult to operate on a hard cap on that basis.
