Rams draft has long been a collaboration for years, although it had to conform to Fisher’s ‘type” of players and then relied upon Fisher and his staff to develop them. There were mixed results on the O player selections.

Rams draft is still a collaboration but it now conforms to McVay “types” and now relies on McVay and his coaches to develop the selections. Results have dramatically improved post McVay.

I don’t think that any of the above is disputable.

Now, here’s where it gets subjective. Here’s my take. Any collaboration is only as good as it’s weakest link, and Fisher was the weak link during his regime. Too many inferior selections, too often inferior development, yet Fisher refused to yield final say.

McVay/Snead work together like a hand in glove. Superior player types are consistently being brought in via draft, trade, and FA, and then are being developed nicely. Too much evidence is in now to think otherwise. Heck, the W/L record alone speaks volumes.

Not sure who you are responding to because sometimes I can't make out this format (that's why I always quote posts when I respond). It could be me, so I will just act like it is. I already said that Snead is a "get the coaches what they want for their systems" kinda GM, so saying the coaches determined a lot of that is not news, really. So given that, Goff, for example, is a Fisher/Snead guy. In terms of development, this is the third time I said I actually don't want to discuss that, at least partly based on you saying YOU don't. I made a case that the problem with the bad offensive picks was the picks. That's where I stand. Like you said before, neither us is changing when it comes to that.

Yeah, it was a reply to you. Sorta. But it was a general response, as well.

We actually agree on most points, I think. We’re nit picking about the Fisher influence, perhaps.

I stand by my statement that the “collaborations” are only as good as their weakest link. That seems self evident to me. And I maintain that Fisher was the weakest link. Both in his preference for player types and his ability to develop players. Especially with O players. And he never learned.

Guess I kept coming back despite my “lawn mowed” comment because, well, just because... Lol.
