There are sites like PFF that count pressures.
And 52% is just massively high.
I mean I can always tell watching a game if the protection is there. If it's slipping now and then but overall okay. If it's a back and forth battle and sometimes the OL comes through and sometimes it doesn't. Or if the OL is being dominated or has just kind of collapsed. I have always watched for that.
That's a visible thing. It's as visible as things like whether the coverage is excellent or the qb is just throwing inaccurately all game. Or if a back is being gifted huge holes from a dominating OL or if he is getting yards on his own effort past the LOS or both. Those are all things we can see.
You will generally find that I am very reluctant to put everything on a qb if it means ignoring, downplaying, or not genuinely account for OL play. That was an especially pronounced thing in 2007 when numbers of people were blaming Bulger for not being his 2006 self when in fact the 2007 OL was one massive injury trainwreck. And yeah you could see it and yeah you could account for its; effect.
