I have seen, innumerable times, QB's suffer worse pressure from play one to final whistle and YES.. most of the time they succumb.. but FAR from always.
Goff HAD his moments in those games. I have seen QB's who did not..... wellllllll, not really, but close to it and FAR fewer moments than Goff had.... yet overcome it. To say that has never happened is not even close to reality IMHO.
And OF COURSE it's subjective... what do you constitute as 'pressure'? What do I constitute as 'pressure'... you are saying we are identical? I highly doubt that.
I think you are VERY missing the boat here in that, (in your words), NO ONE is saying it's nothing to do with the OL... what they are 'trying' to say is that you can discuss the various factors individually... and doing so does NOT equate to "The OL is not the problem".
Another 'subjective' aspect... you - "And yeah my entire career watching football I have rarely seen a qb rise above it. Not when it's relentless and the protection is clearly subpar like that"
Me, I have... a LOT. Not only a LOT.. but far WORSE than Goff suffered in those last few games. Big Ben has done it so many times it makes me want to puke.
Notice how odd this debate is?
Because if you really look at we are BOTH defending Goff but in radically different manner... and not just that... but in a manner that discounts the 'other's position.
Kind of fun, actually.
Your are saying Goff can't handle it but will... in time.
I'm saying he isn't handling it but HAS... and will again. - JamesJM
