...and if he wants $25mm, that is a 32% increase....
The years count. 2nd contracts go up steadily every year.
It's not a high of 19 M, it's a high of 19 M
in 2016.So at 21 M you are talking about a 3.3% a year increase.
Look at qbs. Carr was 25 M in 2017, and Cousins was 28 M in 2018. That's an increase of 12 % in one year.
Or DE. Danielle Hunter signed for 14.4+ M in 2017. Ansah signed for 17+ M in 2018. That's an increase of 15+ % in one year which exceeds the norm.
I haven't done all 2nd contracts at all positions across 10 years or anything like that. But it's always way more than 3.3% a year.
And so if you
count for years, how much is the annual percentage increase from 19 M in 2016 to 25 M in 2018? It's 10% a year. That's well within normal.
....
Sorry ZN, that's flawed logic....you are trying to compare apples to oranges.
What does Dan Hunter, Ansah, Von Miller have in common??? Besides being pass rushers? Nothing!!! You are trying to compare Cousins and Carr as if they're the same guy or in the same situation...they're not. Please don't try to use that as some sort of universal measuring stick.
Just look at how much the cap has gone up since 2016... already did, it's 12%
Donald getting a 12% raise over the $19M that Von Miller got puts him at about $21.5M
