to come to the conclusion that the Rams were trying to resign Watkins. When I hear they are trying to resign, maybe I'm taking a leap of faith they are trying to make an offer.
However, that really isn't the point. McVay said he wanted Watkins back. If Watkins wasn't a fit, why were the Rams even contemplating having Watkins back.
Maybe McVay was blowing smoke...but I doubt it.
IMO, It's called CYA. (Cover Your @ss) IMO, they weren't sure Cooks (their first choice over SW going back to last year) would be available. But regardless if he "wanted" him back or not. It clearly was at a lower price than KC offered.
Also, of course McVay is going to say he wanted him back. What else would he say?
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
