Actually I liked the list and thank the poster for creating this thread. I didn't realize that Engram had played that well. Very impressive stats for a first year TE. Most of these players weren't up to snuff. I further disagree that we should look at other picks who would've been available after 1-23 when each team we're on the clock. Each team used their board and made their best guess at that moment. You are talking about teams who were in the playoffs the previous seasons so many had strong teams especially at the skill positions so they are picking secondary positions. So most aren't grabbing a QB, RB, LT, DE or CB. They have those. They're picking interior lineman, safeties, TEs, etc. They also could be looking for a talent who dropped do to off field or injuries. Now, having said all that this is a more important point, we didn't trade our 1-23 pick for Cooks. Well, we did, but we also traded out a sixth and got back a fourth. So we traded up two whole rounds with the other part of the trade. It is certainly conceivable to find a diamond in the rough with the new fourth rounder. We could also trade that fourth and one or more of our sixes to move up another round or two. We hit twice in the third last season getting Kupp who looks like a star and JJ at safety who started and played really well. So, for me, the trade is much more complicated to judge than if Cooks is worth the 1-23 because it was more than that and the more is in our favor. That being said I would trade the unknown 1-23 every day for a 3-time 1,000 yard receiver who is only 24. Every day. And McSnead did even better than that.
