I am saying that if he got the deal he wanted last year and then at the end of the year 2017 season, he would have the option to then VOID the new deal at the players option and become a UFA before his 5th year would have even started and could negotiate with all 32 teams at that point.
In essence, gain his UFA after the 4th year out of college & have no compensation for the Rams except a 3rd compensatory pick.
