Woods has not performed well but
He was on a horrific passing team with a QB that is young and unproven and a bad offensive coaching staff. Gurley stunk last year as well with the Rams under similar circumstances, bad offensive coaching, bad offense around him, but we saw what he could do those first 4 games of his career before everybody adjusted and shut him down with the 9 in the box approach.
I think taking a flier on woods at a discounted price because he was surrounded by a bad environment is worth the gamble. There is a reward if he turns out to be a good player. (A fairly young player and a decent salary) I doubt that he will be what you want as your go to guy, but a nice player to have on the team.
But there is no way around to spin the results, he was a 500-600 yard receiver with very little playmaking. Heck, he only scored 1 td last year and has been averaging 3 per year in his 4 years.
He had one big game last year against Seattle that 25+% of his production for the year came from racking up 162 yards of his 613 yards. The Rams need to see what was the difference in that breakout game and do more of the same. I attribute his lack of touchdowns to a bad offensive coaching staff most likely, but we will see.
