I strongly favor the Rams picking a CB with their first pick, either at 26 or after a trade down.
A CB drafted that high has a legitimate shot at being CB1 right out of training camp, and could be CB1 for 5 years or longer. Adding a shut down corner to this young defense would take it to a whole new level.
A WR taken high would be no more than a WR3 with Nacua and Adams on the roster. The Rams' WR3 caught 39 passes in '23, and 42 catches in '24 and in the likely event that a rookie WR3 does no more than that, to me that doesn't seem like a great return on the investment.
BTW the guy who was WR3 those two seasons is still on the roster: Atwell. The thought of spending a first round pick on a guy who won't do any more than push Atwell to WR4 and then catch 40 passes when Atwell can obviously do that doesn't move the needle for me.
Ah, but what about when Adams is gone? He's only on a 2 year deal.
Well, the Rams have a SB window open now and a CB1 would help them get there more than a replacement WR3 would. But it would be smart to prepare for Adams' eventual departure, so pick a WR later in this deep WR class and develop him for a year or 2, or pick his replacement next year which would still be a year ahead of time.
