As far as Purdy goes: IMHO he is a clear system QB created by Shanahans play calling plus a stacked roster on O and D. So much talent around him with a top 5 o-line to boot.
I agree with those that at last half of the starting QBs in the league would do better than him under the current conditions in SF.
I also believe that Purdy would be very pedestrian if you put him on another team with less talent. The Chiefs certainly do not win this game if Purdy was their QB.
Go RAms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Purdy was ok against the blitz, just not when it mattered most in the SB and that seems to be the trend. I guess there's extra pressure on him on 3rd downs or important spots that when the defense applies pressure in those situations, he doesn't do as well as the rest of the game. That's exactly what we saw in the SB.
A great QB will be better on 3rd downs and pressure situations not just on first and second downs. I want my QB to be great when it matters most and I think Stafford is just that type of QB. He thrives in pressure situations.
Stafford is clutch in those situations, Purdy obviously isn't.
Agree with you that Purdy seems like a "system QB" and wouldn't be as good on a lot of teams. I wonder how he would do in McVay's system?
Here's to hoping that the whiners pay a ton of money to him and it cripples their CAP for years to come!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
