McVay's history of backup QB's that he brought in: Dan Orlovsky (12 yrs), Blake Bortles (4 years). Sean Mannion was already there.
Even Baker Mayfiled (4 years) and Carson Wentz (6 years). He's leaned towards, or had more sucess, with vets.

Just can't see them going the rookie route at backup.
