I can't imagine playing 10 or 20 snaps in preseason games would make much of a difference but maybe it does.
But the Rams haven't played their starters in preseason in a long time and they still managed to start 2-1 last year, 3-0 in 2019, and 8-0 in 2018. (As I'm sure you remember there were no preseason games in '20 or '21).
The Rams may not get off to a quick start this year but if they don't I suspect it will have more to do with their lack of talent and the strength of their early schedule than the fact that they didn't play their starters.
The Rams had 4 controlled scrimmages and the starters got way more reps in them than they would have in any reasonable preseason scenario. I'm confident they the work they got there is sufficient this year just as it's been in the past.
Good conversation!
It's that "lack of talent" and "experience" that is the reason I wanted to see them play more and for those guys to get a little continuity with the experienced starters.
This team isn't anything like those teams you mentioned above. IMO, they more seasoned vets than we do now. JMO.
Carry On!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
