In the NFC title game AND the Super Bowl.
You can't ignore that.
The defense closed the sale.
You come across like he is to blame for something that didn't actually happen.
He had 3 hof'ers on his unit and it wasn't anything special until Von Miller turned on the gas.
Even with Miller playing well, Morris really didn't shut down anyone. If I recall correctly, we won those playoff and SB by a whopping 3 points each!!!
Not exactly dominating, is it?
Also, on that last play, if for some reason AD doesn't get to Burrow, Chase is running wide open down the sideline to win the game.
If we are being honest, it was Kupp and Stafford who won that SB.
It had very little to do with Morris outstanding game planning. If it was, you can bet your bottom dollar he would've gotten at least one serious HC offer after that SB. But that didn't happen. He got ZERO interest around the league.
To me, that speaks volumes and cannot be ignored. Even with 3 HOF'ers he still ran the softest most timid scheme in the NFL and that can't be ignored either.
IMO, Morris is just an "average to below average" DC who can do well when he has multiple HOF'ers to work with. But who wouldn't?? It would be awful hard to screw it up with all those HOF'ers to use IMO.
We will see what Morris is all about this year now that he only AD as the remaining HOF'er to work with. I don't think it will be pretty.
IMO, Morris gets way more credit than he deserves. He was good enough to get the job done with a loaded roster, but those days are gone.
That SB ring seems like a long time ago now and after this season it will seem even longer. Let's see what creative, innovative schemes and play calls Morris comes up with this year when real coaching will be needed.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
