What made Ramsey so effective in this system was his ability to cover, tackle, and diagnose plays early enough to effect the outcome. His range of ability to handle both larger targets and quick smaller receivers gave Morris flexibility in the scheme. It's my belief that most systems succeed less from schematic pressure than they do from having players who can win their matchups. The Ravens and Seahawks defenses a decade or so ago were very simple...but loaded with superior talent.
Sadly, the Rams talent will need time to develop and growing pains are inevitable. Let's face it, AD has never been surrounded by less talent on a Rams defense.
