My view: Henderson showed flashes but never panned out. He didn't exactly cementg a place for himself when Akers was hurt. Hence, he's gone.
It appears that Akers' input could have had somehing to do with the team dumping Hendo but that's hearsay and past history at this point.
The Rams picked up Kyren Williams, at least in part, because he can 1) pass block, and 2) see the field and run to daylight, and 3) does and says all the right things to indicate that he's a team-first player. All areas where Akers comes up short. Hmmm... do you suppose the Rams scoped all that stuff out before they drafted him?
It was after all that with Williams that Akers quit on the team. Hendo was past history by then.
I hope Akers has outgrownhis Narcissism, but that's a tough hurdle to clear. I wish him the best.
Meanwhile, Z. Evans has what Shakespeare called "a lean and hungry look," and wants to play football. Looking beyond that high school cell phone incident, he's been a respected citizen and high-level scholar in college - a culture fit with the Rams.
How will Cam react to the challenges posed by Williams and now, Z. Evans? The inter-lockerroom, especially RB room, intrigue begins.
Open competition starts soon. I hope it's fierce, and the #1 RB situation sorts itself out well ahead of the season opener. Get your popcorn. It could be a fun watch.
