The $100,000 question: why has Akers never rushed for 1,000 yards in a season?

Is he not good enough to gain 59 yards a game? (59 yards a game for 17 games is 1,003 yards)

Has he been unable to stay healthy?

Perhaps something else?

This is Akers' contract year: that in an of itself should provide the motivation for gaining 59 yards a game. If he stay healthy - and I know that's a big if - you honestly don't think he's capable of that?

I can see some extra motivation from him due to the contract coming up too. Money can be a huge motivator!

Not that it will matter for us because even if he does well I don't see us being the team that gives him his next contract. I think it's his last year here no matter how he performs this year...and I'm ok with that.
