the question is why can't he get 250 carries? If he gets 250 carriers
he gets the 1,000 yards.
Why didn't he?
2020--Rookie, missed three games, too.
2021--injured
2022--Regression? Attitide? Whatever the issue was early on . . .
I couldn't care less if he gets 1,000 or not. I don't care if he
starts or not. If the Evans' are better, let them start.
Let it play out.
But it all depends on perspective.
If you think Akers is the back of the first half of 2022 he would need to be cut.
If he's the back of the 2nd half he should be the starter.
In the final 8 games he ran for 610 yards (4.8 avg) and 6 TDs.
First half it was 187 yards and a 2.8 average.
Rams have to find out which one he is, or if he's in the middle.
If he's the 2nd half guy, he's a 1,200-yard guy...
So, like a lot of this season, he's just an unknown. And the good thing
is he has competition and whoever is the best gets the bulk of the carries.
