I feel like he's not changing, giving up those keys, so I want to give that OC job to Thomas Brown, let him stay in the room, and learn some more. he may not have done well with the TE's but he sees what goes on non the less. A guy can still learn areas of the team to continue growing, a guy can learn by mistakes.
He's a smart guy, he's looked up to in that RB room, he had a short stint in that TE room, could have done better for sure, but a smart guy can garner info regardless. He's a known positive, you go outside to get a guy who's going to do the same thing that Brown would do IF/WHEN Sean keeps the keys you lose Brown and gain nothing. I am sure he has ideas to bounce off Sean as well as anyone else would.
I have a different take, Roman.
First, Brown screwed up with the Samples hire. McVay gave him a little rope and he hung himself with it.
Second, Brown didn’t impress with his TE results. Why wasn’t Hopkins getting more snaps? And why wasn’t Carter getting any?
I dunno. Maybe being a great RB coach is Brown’s ceiling?
