VERY near. Bought it maybe 10 years ago as a "fixer-upper". They are thinking of selling it because it's not the same today as it was when they bought it. It's not 'horrible' today.... but he tells me the last ten years have seen a big increase in crime. According to him 10 years ago they felt safer there than here at home... that's no longer true.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
overweight to you is what? 5lbs maybe? :laughing Since my heart attack some years back it's been a struggle for me... no energy, and horrible weight gain. I don't weigh myself but at the start of this year I know for a fact I was the heaviest I've ever been... VERY overweight. Got started on this current diet, ummmmmmm, 5 weeks ago? Maybe 6. It's hell, Greg.... not just staying on theby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I don't think they make "made for astronomy" binoculars BUT... My friend has a pair he uses for hunting... I've looked thru them many times and they are amazing. I've never seen better BUT....although I've looked thru many brands I have not looked thru them all so I'm sure there are others as good, perhaps better... but the Swarovski's blew my mind.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I consider one of the best of all time. I listen to it often and I'm talking every single song! He had a gift for creating melodies that you couldn't get out of your head... mostly because you didn't want to get it out of your head. :laughing Sad loss!by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
He did well..... my daughter was tracking his every move while he was there. :laughing He stayed within, ohhhh, 3 blocks of the beach at all times. He said the food was fantastic! He even did a video chat with us during one meal... it was outdoors, on the beach, and the chef cooked right at their table. The Celestron Nexstar 8SE. with quite a few accessories. I used to have a Super Polaris 8" with a motor but no computerized GoTo feature. Actually I still have it.... somewhere. I love this new telescope.... but if you ask me what I use the most it's not my telescope... it's my binoculars. Very quick. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Since the first time I watched this scene, and ever since... this is perfection. :laughing Not all of you will like this... but that's your loss. I've often said on this board that when it comes to movies it's seldom an 'entire' movie that impresses me... more often it's individual scenes. There may be some scenes as good, I'm sure there are... but there are none better.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
when the drug wars are going full tilt. Bad, right? My grandson did it. Party time. Would I have done the same when I was 21? Yes, yes I would have... which is just more proof that it's brain dead stupid. He's currently in the air headed from Mazatlan to Tijuana... he's not out of the woods, IOW.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
but yes, you're right... I bought an iPhone adaptor for that very purpose. Here's my excuse: :laughing Locating objects is not quite as simple as they make it seem, (not bad, just not simple)... with the iPhone adaptor it gets harder. Everything has to be aligned perfectly to use that efficiently. And here's yet another excuse - right now our skies are hit and miss... lots of clouds oby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
but I'm being nitpicky here.... I think the Ram's began with some kick your ass SB hangover... then the injuries hit. Don't see any of that as being 'beneficial'... BUT... Neither is it debilitating... not even close. What I'm getting at is: Last season was an aberration... lot of it, maybe most, self-imposed but an aberration none the less. Rams "should" spring back... whiby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm having the time of my life.... viewing planets, galaxies, nebula... BUT... it's not easy. Big learning curve on how to use the telescope even though it's computerized. There's still a BUNCH you have to learn. My family is disappointed. :laughing S'ok, most people would/will be. It's not how most people think it will be... no vibrant colors, (some), and objects even in a good telesby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I also think it got 'silly', and it continues to do so. My problem is that I want the answer... what in the hell happened? BUT... As silly as it got I've lost hope that the big 'reveal' will be satisfying... I'm convinced it will be silly.... never the less... I want to know.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

and as I thought. You know what absolutely astounds me? In some of those underwater caves they have found evidence of ancient human exploration. IOW... BEFORE scuba gear some daring soul ventured into those caves while holding their breath and found pockets of air where they could draw on the walls. That takes a level of courage, or maybe stupidity, I cannot understand. Now some, I kby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
You may recall I bought my granddaughters a flight to England a few months ago. To say she's 'excited' is an understatement. Just saw her 'countdown calendar' and she leaves in 42 days. She'll be staying with my son and his family who live in England. My son sent me a text this morning saying he's got a surprise waiting for Sydney when she arrives - - He's going to take her into the airby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I think, I don't know for sure, it's rated as so dangerous because of poor visibility and the chances of getting lost? Which makes perfect sense but I attribute that to diver stupidity. IOW... I don't know if cave diving has reasons for being so dangerous OTHER THAN the 'getting lost' thing? Don't misunderstand.. I'm not at all doubting that diving in caves causes more deaths... but are tby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Wrote about the series "Manifest" some time back. I stumbled onto Manifest maybe three years ago? Quite a saga the series has been going thru.... After season 3 they dumped it. And this BEFORE the big reveal letting us viewers know what in the hell was happening. I didn't know it had been dumped until finishing the last episode of season 3 and trying to click season 4... no seasoby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
As an actor.... but some of his movies are excellent. I do NOT think he's a 'bad' actor... he's one of those actors that to me always seems the same no matter which role he's playing.... or did until: Amsterdam. In Amsterdam he definitely broke the mold. I thought his performance in that movie worthy of an oscar. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Watched "Out of The Past" this evening. I had not only not seen it I had not even heard of it. Well, owe you thanks... that was excellent. No shortage of twists. What movie makers back then could do with Black and White never fails to astound me. I think they could make a black and white film more colorful that a color film. earlier today. I liked it a more than the first one and again.... these movies are, as you mentioned, extremely well made and acted. No third movie, however... so now I'm back to perusing Netflix, Hulu, Prime, HBOMax, etc for something to watch. NOT fun when you're as picky as me. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
To be pressurized and safe you'd have to have your body enclosed as well as your head, right? I'm completely out of my element here... no idea how this stuff works. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I'm enjoying them... mid-way thru the 2nd. i think there are only two. BUT... I'm not infatuated with them. I'm not sure why I don't like them more because: They are extremely well made and the acting is very good. The sets are amazingly beautiful. This is a movie(s) that fits everything I normally love about a movie but for whatever reason I'm kind of lackadaisical about them. Maybe itby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
the theaters with lounge seats, extra wide? Fresno has at least two...maybe more, I don't go to a movie theater often so I can't say. BUT... they are more expensive, quite a bit more... which means it's always easy to get seats AND the best seats in the theater. I have been.... ohhhh, maybe 3 or 4 times? Snowboarding should be illegal. It's not the board itself... it's the attitude. :laughing When it was only ski's the only worry I ever had about hitting another skier was running into a beginner who had lost control; and that almost never happened because they weren't on the same runs I was one.... well, unless I was going all the way down to the lodge in which case you have to ski some begiby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

although for different reasons. Reasons I did not foresee... caught me blindsided. I simply don't have that desire anymore. No need, or at least very little, to test myself. one of those bargain basement bins. I wear athletic socks, white, 90% of the time. My favorite socks... Are my backpacking socks. Merino Wool. Expensive and worth every penny. well, not literally. But every summer my family spent 2 weeks there... well, My dad was back and forth to our campground because he had farming to do. A few summers we camped there for a month.
