Last year was very disappointing for the team especially the offense. We traded all those picks so we could get a franchise QB and after last year it looked like that did not happen which is a huge negative for this team and the fan base. And we still do not know the answer but there is hope again. I need to remind myself about all the positive attributes regarding Goff. I need to rememberby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
He was a 4th round pick with 2nd round talent so if we hit on him it will should be real good but lets face it 4th rounders are a 50/50 proposition. We have great coaches so if he can be coached up and they can teach him how to use that chip on his shoulder as a motivator maybe we get lucky. Maybe he has to play special teams for a year before grasping the offense. All in all he seems likeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRFIP One by one McVay & Snead are stripping away Goff's excuses for 2017. Maybe this will be his coming out party. It seems to me that they are taking away all excuses for the offense. They hired great offensive coaches, replace 2/5 of offensive line including LT, they added FA WR + Drafted TE and 2 WR. They have a full offseason with Goff. Goff will need to show significant groby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great discussion about the choices they had to make. In 15 Offensive like was was doing okay and looked promising. In 16 with a bunch of really 2nd year players they changed the blocking scheme (how stupid can you be) and the Offensive Line really struggled. Are all of those promising guys of 15 duds now or are they salvageable? I think they made the judgement that they could coach up a feby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
They did add an All Pro Left Tackle and drafted a full back and added an experienced center. We Changed OL coaches and have a lot of young talent. Was a 2nd round OL really going to "fix" the line? I think they did a lot already.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I am very glad we took Goff last year as this year the there wasn't a lot to choose from. Yea maybe I wish we took Wentz but last year was the year to move up and get a big time QB. I still have high hopes for Goff especially now that we have an offensive coach with a clue. Love that we are putting a premium on hands, route running and intelligent football players. You need to pick guys thby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay and Snead were on the same page. They were of one mind in drafting these guy. Coaches and scouts were on the same page. Fisher and Snead were on the same page for defensive player but since Fisher didn't have a clue on how to run an offense the input on offense wasn't very good. tby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Player development seems to be a huge focus of this new regime. The focus of individual roles, emphasizing individual strengths and leveraging those strengths by fitting them together for effective offensive and defensive schemes is so refreshing. The offense under Fisher and the player development on offense under Fisher was terrible. Many blame Snead but I think much is Fisher buy not haviby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the guy that will be in trouble is Harkey. Yes he is a good blocker but that is it. Not a pass catching threat and can't run the ball. He is not a fullback and loses out to Everett, Higbee and Hemmingway as a TEby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Davis and Reed both put up big numbers under McVay. I think he likes all of our TE and has talked about all 3 on the field at the same timeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteFlorida_Ram I pushed Cooper Kupp up on my Day 2 WR rankings list after I did a second round of film study on him. This Video Interview that Kupp did with Daniel Jeremiah on "Moving the Sticks" inspired me to do another film session on him. I think Kupp's quite capable of being a special player once he adjusts to the speed of the NFL, which I believe will be early in his rooby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Here are some optimistic tidbits on Krupp Top GPS speed in Senior Bowl Elite Shuttle time translates to elite quickness Great hands Great routs Great above the shoulders sounds like a receivers coach Good size Yea he ran a subpar 40 but isn't everything else pretty darn good especially for a 3rd round choice. I love this pickby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Kupp at 4.62 has more than enough speed. Saw somewhere that he had a GPS on and had the highest top end speed in the senior bowl. Everett, Kupp and Reynolds great additionsby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I am with you 43, 10-6 seems like it is possible. We have invested in offense and now have a coaching staff with a clue about offense. Expect huge improvement from Goff Gurley will shine again. Offensive line huge improvement with New Center, Left Tackle and development of youth TE are young but all big time talent WR: We have a mix of youthful experience, speed and good routeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
He did draft 2 consecutive rookies of the year. He has had good hits in Gurley, Donald, Brockers, Jenkins, Johnson, Gaines, Joyner, Tree. He has made some good trades. Is he to fault for not developing the offensive picks are is that coaching & a Fisher incompetence? Snead doesn't make the contract decisions so I don't hold him accountable for those decisions that is Demoff. Yes he has hby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamBill ......he plays faster than he times in a 40. Kupp caught a lot of attention in Alabama with his speed. He may have run just a 4.62-second forty at the combine, but he was clocked at a hair under 21 mph at the Senior Bowl with wearable GPS technology. Kupp was among the fastest players recorded in Mobile which helped earn him a private workout with the Rams. Reese's Senior Boby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think they may have "reached" for the TE in round 2 a bit but they loved the guy and targeted him and did a an extra pick in a trade down. But other than that all the picks seem to be at a reasonable range of value and the 4th round WR Reynolds was considered great value by many. I like the draft and like how McSnead were in lock step on the picks. We will see how well they are cby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Rock Totally agree with your analysis. We hit out biggest needs and got guys that Coach had a detailed vision for and was totally excited about. We are pretty solid on OL and DL and we have depth. DB, LB & offensive weapons are what is on the shopping list.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I listened to their interview and you could tell that the offensive players excite the coach and that he was very involved in the picks. These guys are smart and have played 4 years and will be more ready to go this year than what we have seen in the past. Les Snead probably made the decision to trade down I think he excels in this area now but will always remember Bobby Wagner. I also likeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
St Louis was in default of the contract for the stadium. Arbitrator Agreed. St. Louis did not negotiate in good faith as they made an initial ridiculous proposal that was laughable. St Louis signed a bad deal and essentially defaulted on execution of the deal. If St. Louis did not default on the deal the Rams would have had to stay in St. Louis. Rams had an escape clause in the deal forby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
You never know how much is true but it does seem that we had a coaching problem and that the team lacked unity. The offense was out of date and the players were not all committed and not all in shape. It will be interesting to see how the new coaching staff handles things. It will also be telling how much was Snead and how much was Fisher.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think early in the draft that Fisher would be heavily involved while late in the Draft and for UDFA it would be all Snead. Signings or failing to sign players I think was Fisher/Demoff & they have been questionable. Free Agents: I think Fisher had final say. Overall direction: Fisher/Demoff Managing and Developing players: Fisher Type of Players to Draft: Fisherby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
1. He came from a spread offense so there is a huge learning curve 2. He is really young 21, he is still physically maturing 3. The coaching staff did not design offense around his strengths There are a lot of positives but there is also a lot of projection. Problem with Fisher/Snead is they are always looking long term not for the current season's success. They took to many high poteby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

We do seem to have a coaching problem. We seemed to let our foot off the gas yesterday and lost our aggressiveness on defense. On offense we had some stupid plays by Kendricks and Grob that really hurt us but it seemed like we had no plan to loosen up the defense. We let them stack the box all day long. I think we tried 1 long pass all day long. This team has talent, we have a great defeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Keenum will be a FA with a value of $3M which is pricey. Mannion will be the guy and he is ready to be the backup and he is signed. Look for us to add a developmental guy for training camp.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
They should play either Goff or Mannion. It is time to get those guys experience and if Goff is not ready we should put Mannion in. This will be Case last year with the Rams and he isn't helping us win now.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
