What GM and Coach work better together? The Rams are consistently good, they consistently have a playoff caliber roster, they manage the cap really well and have a plan for 2 or 3 years out. They take risks that are calculated and often work out. Many focus just on the draft but GM job is much more. Rams have continue to put playoff quality rosters on the field which is really what coby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
2 years ago we had a playoff roster and injuries wiped out the season. Offensive line decimated, Stafford, Kupp, AD, Williams, Akers, etc Nothing you can really do to avoid that. But if we have just a normal reasonable amount of injuries I like the depth we have this year versus years past. Backup QB Lower end starter quality backup. Youngblood I love these types of posts you make as they are very educational. I rarely comment on them because I don't feel like I have a educated opinion but I really enjoy them and know they are a lot of work. Just wanted to say thanks. I think Johnson BTW is an interesting player to watch. He did get some PT towards the end of last year and made some plays. I will be interesting to seeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

The top 2 guys Verse and Fiske have top RAS scores and they are who we are counting on to be in the rotation and even start next year. Corum ran an okay 40 but not great and he is short which is a big factor. But they loved how he played Kitchens tested very average and ran a crap 40. The Rams seem to be pretty deep at WR and Edge in terms of the number of NFL caliber players we have at those positions. Now of course injuries could factor into the equation but it seems we will have to cut some players that will end up on somebodies 53 man roster. I think think there may be a possibility of garnering a draft pick or 2 if the Rams decide to test the market before or early inby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteramzilla With the new more physical DL and ER direction of the Rams I am curious to learn what self improvements Byron Young had done this off season. I have heard one rumor that he has physically made himself stronger, whatever that entails. Rams also drafted Hampton and Mathis who now have a year of experience and a year to physically mature. This really isn't a big deal. My view is Stafford wants to play 3 - 5 more years and his contract doesn't support that. So he looking for more guaranteed money and a couple more years. Doesn't that work for the Rams and Stafford? Even if it is to just guarantee the remaining contract what is wrong with that? He as found a home and wants to control things and I don' t blame him. Thanks for that post. I seems the kid was great in his 1st year then had injuries for the next 2 season before coming back and having a superb year. Based on the talent and production this kid seems like he has the potential to be a force. Yes there is risk on the injury side but getting a 6th rounder with the potential to be a force on the DL is well worth the gamble. Seems like he could mby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
You have to feel good about the Safety position on this team with the addition of Kinchens. He is only 21 so there may be some maturity that needs to take place but it seems like he has some traits that are natural and can't be taught. I think this is a great situation for the kid. He can learn from the best without pressure of having to be the immediate backup. If he can be a really good backup next season he will turn out to be a very successful draft pick. Finding a good backup QB at a low cap hit is a big deal.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Going into the off season I felt that we needed to acquire a high caliber RB due to Williams running style and injury history. Last year the drop off was huge. I was bummed going into the draft as the RB class was very weak. It seemed all the top RB had big holes in their game. The top guy from Texas (I think) was coming off an ACL and didn't even play. Evans would seem to be on the bubble and Corum a lock to make the team. Evans has talent but wasn't ready last year, especially when it came to blocking to protect the QB. The kid has talent and he has a year of development and another training came to get it together. Williams and Corum are locks to make the team. Dead, I got to take my hat off to you this year. You seem to get better with age. Did the Rams overpay? Do we base the analysis on a trade value chart developed years ago which is only a guideline? The Rams made a calculation that Fiske wasn't going to be around when they picked. They determined he was the guy the really wanted and was critical to the success of the 2024 teams success. So they found a partner and made a trade based on the what the market demanded in paymby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
At this point we really have don't know how these guys will do. They seem to have great potential but every team thinks that especially those taken in the first 3 rounds. Last year our guys were rated that high and we hit on a bunch of them and some bit time like Puka, Young and Turner. Here is what we do know. McSnead wanted Fiske and thought they had to give up next years 2nd rounder to get him. Now the question on why not one of this years 3rd rounders are would it have gotten the deal done or did they like who they could get in the 3rd Corum and prioritize it over next years 2nd round pick. Sounds like the the injury bug and maybe some refinement in playing with leverage are the only hits on this guy. Sounds like some good coaching can help big time and on technique. I agree after the 3-6 start we were a different more mature team. While we have many new players we have a young core who figured out how to win games. Not only that they expected that they would win games. A young team matured with amazing speed. Williams measurables don't add up which is why he lasted until the 5th round. However, his all round game and development as a legit big time rusher are not in question. He is a top back in the league. Corum got better testing numbers and has great production in college.
