He makes sense after a move down IMO. I think the Rams will love his athletic profile and he has a non-stop motor, and from all accounts a good guy, so its a matter of if the Rams think they can make him a finisher as far as sacks go.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I can see him going early 2nd as well. Its weird, but sometimes guys get knocked for size, and other times they don't.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I decided 7 years ago I was going to change the way I operated as far as my half assed scouting. I would still do 3 mocks, but it would be post senior bowl, post combine, and pre-draft. The senior bowl answers some questions, like can a D2 player compete with the big guys. How do they handle a pro style offense? How do they interview? The combine can confirm some stuff you think you see or don'tby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Tom Brady when he starts color next year. . . . . . . . . everyone else Obviously Brady is the greatest at everything. Wonder if he will do color commentary with a deflated microphone. in all seriousness it's Summerall and Madden. And the original Gifford MNF crew behind those 2.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he is not a bad consolation prize in round 2 if they go a different direction in round 1. I'm still looking for a DE in this draft that fit what the Rams are looking for.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Chop and Jenkins and Hall is a great start to rebuilding the front 7. Melton is my favorite DB outside the 1st round. Rice is an absolute fit, and what I think the Rams are looking for at WR. Jones was overlooked at Texas because his teammate will be a top 3 OT drafted next year. Chambers works well next to Jones nicely. You added a PS QB, a safety that I know well when he was a CBby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
So just out of the 3rd round at 100, but with my rankings he is would be just fine at 99. Here's what I said on my big board: 113. Brandon Dorlus - DE - Oregon - 6'-3" 283 lbs. - Explosive with good hands and is adept at attacking gaps, run defense is a work in progress. 34 or 43 DE, maybe a 3T? He usually bull rushes, but has a good swim move and a decent cross chop. Otherwise heby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I have Milton III at 138 on my final big board. So end of the 4th early 5th round option IMO. Def not day 2. He has too much work to do to be in the top 3 rounds. Positives: Arm Strength - Will walk on to an field at the next level with top 3 arm strength. Mobility - combined with his size, he was Josh Allen vibes. In fact lets check out Allen vs Milton from an athletic view: Milton isby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
So Pearsall is probably going to end up as my 2nd round pick in mock 2.0 There is just so much to like. Size? 6'-1" 190 lbs. CHECK Speed? 4.41 forty CHECK Athleticism? 9.90 RAS CHECK (including a 42" vert and 10'-9" broad, good gravy) Loves football? Herm Edwards was quoted as saying Pearsall just loves playing football. So yeah...CHECK Production? Over 1600 yardsby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Take a flyer late on him and see if you can develop him IMO. I still like Miltons upside, but Mordecai is interesting.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think Sweat is a Rams type of DL, but taking up blockers as a NT, frees up Turner, Young and hopefully Latu. And he actually had 65 more snaps than Murphy did. At 60 lbs or so heavier. I like alot of the 2nd round DL. Fiske, Sweat and Hall all look good to me. I still want a WR in round 2.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Kool Aid McKinstry ran at his pro day with a Jones fracture in his foot. 4.44 to 4.47, good time for him. Surgery on the 22nd, out a month according to him. Marvin Harrison Jr - did nothing, again. I'm really disappointed in his post season draft process or lack there of. Xavier Thomas - Edge - Clemson measured in at 6'-2" 253 and ran a 4.56 Tanner Mordecai - QB - Wisc - Ran a blistby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotealyoshamucci Mocks 1.0 and 2.0 had to be destroyed over the past few days. This is the toughest mock season I've ever had. (Add in that I had to redo this because I finished before we signed Kam Kurl and redid Boom's contract but didn't post it) (edit in ... then AD retired and we signed JG so I had to redo it again) Now, after free agency, I can get it down to 2 mocks ... based totallby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
and first step combined are devastating. it's a weak idl class, but I think Newton is good. Very good. That said I'd go edge, wr, cb firstby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Newton is taller, has a much bigger motor, and wasn't playing beside a 360 lb. space eater. That said, I'd prolly trade down first, thinking he is still on the board.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Jordan Whittington - WR - Texas - He's a later day 3 guy, but he was in a loaded Texas WR room with Worthy and Mitchell, both top 40 players in this draft. He is about 6'-1" 205 lbs and has admitted he likes to do the dirty work to help a team win. Takes pride in his blocking, isn't afraid to go over the middle and is a load to bring down in the open field. I really like him as a depth pieceby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not gonna freak out on my draft board and go DL in round 1 probably, but Johnny Newton or Byron Murphy in round 1, Darius Robinson or Braden Fiske in round 2. or, take T Sweat in round 2 to eat up double teams and let Turner eat.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I had completely forgotten about that. TY sirby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
First Jonah Jackson from the 2020 draft: 64. Jonah Jackson - IOL - Ohio St. - 6'-3" 306 lbs. - A technician with decent strength that can play anywhere on the inside. Needs to be more consistent. Plays with an edge. So I had him with a 2nd round grade. And I still think he struggles a bit with consistency. So there is that. He played 3 years at Rutgers, then transferred to Ohio State.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I think his lack of length is why he is stuck on blocks, no way to shed, and he lacks the explosion to disrupt the blocker. I appreciate the well informed opinion.by Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Braden Fiske Florida State 444 73.9 He's climbing because he's done the unexpected and pulled out of the middle of this class and into the upper tier. There's the top 2, there's Sweat (who is scheme dependent), and now there's this guy. Oh, and Jenkins, the Michigan kid. I really missed on this kid. Had him later day 2, maybe the 4th, but after the combine I went back and can see him solidly toby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Andre Sam LSU 767 71.2 Just a guy ... doesn't really stand out anywhere. His drills were decent. Beau Brade Maryland 729 67.8 DNP ... if there's any chance he slides I'm all over it. Day 3 target of mine Calen Bullock USC 845 71.5 This guy is polarizing for a number of reasons ... but his athleticism is not one. 6-2 188 ... smooth drills .. 4.48 is above average and the 1.51 split showsby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
What a class, its like a kid going to an ice cream shop and not being able to decide on a flavor because they all look so good. Adonai Mitchell Texas 888 72.2 I don't know if any player helped themselves as much as Mitchell. 4.34 at his size, 41.5 vert .. and a history of acrobatic catches ... If we took him at 19 I'd be fine. I thought he'd run a 4.50. his 3 cone might be weak and his routeby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
I think we are on the same page this year, so not much to add. Andru Phillips Kentucky 710 71.7 Feisty competitor, 4.48 but quick acceleration (1.51 split) and burst 42 vert. He could easily slide but I like him as a 4th CB Caelen Carson Wake Forest 650 73.7 DNP ... bummer. Might work well for us, he'll slide and he has really good tape. Cam Hart Notre Dame 572 83.3 Numbers match wby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Nothing a shot of cattle antibiotics can't fix. Anyhow, I have so little to add since we are seemingly on the same page this year. I might touch on a few. Audric Estime Notre Dame 388 94.2 I wanted him to run slow .. he did. He showed great burst numbers. I have him targeted if we trade down and nab a 4th rounder or extra 3rd. I feel like that's over drafting him, BUT ... he and Kyren wereby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
QB: To me its really Pratt and Milton RB: deep list, simply because I have so few on day 2. Audric Estime - do not care about his 40 time Bucky Irving - Excellent pass catcher, wished he ran faster for his size, he's still a football player Will Shipley - team player with excellent pass catching skills, hard worker Braelon Allen - love his size, speed combo Cody Schrader - lots of miles, bby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
A consensus top 3 WR coming into the combine. Yes, even by me. In fact, I remember being wowed by his athleticism during testing and drills. Absolutely fell in love with this kid. He measured 6'-2 1/2" 215 lbs.33 1/4" arms and 9 1/4" hands. Great size and length for the position. Testing: 4.45 40, 1.51 sec 10 yard split, 36 1/2" vert, 10'-5" broad jump, 17 reps. So hiby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
As far as Milton, we all knew his arm was a rail gun. Howitzer doesn't even begin to describe it. He needs to get more accurate and I wonder if he can read a defense. But I mocked him to the Rams in 1.0 on day 3 simply on athletic upside. Where I picked him, if he fails, no harm no foul. RB Isaac Guerendo, Louisville - not gonna lie, he came out of nowhere to me. Not sure what to do with him nby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
edited for the correction. I knew I could count on you to correct me. :thumbsupby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
Build and keep a very good OL not only to keep Stafford upright, but when the time comes for his replacement, you already have a OL in place to protect the new guy. Bradford got the crap beat out of him because they never had the OL fixed. Look at David Carr as another example. Saquan Barkley and Jones are another example, you can draft all the playmakers and QBs you want, but until that line isby Deadpool - RamsFootballFans.com
